![]() And Pioneer is what I like to see too when I play events as well. and if I were to show up with Denon decks it would be a huge issue. the events I rent my system to and the DJs that play those events expect Pioneer, other sound guys that do the same kind of events I do, they have Pioneer. But reality is that my decks are Pioneer. I can plug into my or someone elses computer and play, I can borrow a computer at a festival if I need to organize my files. In fact I don't use Rekordbox anymore but just organize my tracks in folders on the flash drive and use them that way, it's more work but better for me. But personally, if I am going to be locked in by someone, it's going to be Pioneer. ![]() I f-ing HATE Pioneer's jog bend dead zone, though. What I think needs to be open is the FORMAT that Rekordbox, Engine, Traktor, Serato, etc use to store their metadata (database of tracks, bpm, key, waveform, etc) so that this information is recognized by every system, not locking you into one system. Granted, Cdj-1000mk3 on have been bit perfect at zero pitch, making the sound of the Pioneer players moot going digital, and Pioneer also got their analog outs' sound up to snuff at that time on the CDJs, too. Whatever interpolative upsampling Denon used for the resampling in 96khz mode, it's awesome, like exotic audiophile stuff, even if the background doesn't sound as black or details "pop" like the Rane processing (talking digital in/outs, not the analog ones).Ĭomparing Denon DN-5000 to the CDJ-1000mk2 years ago, the Denon sounded a lot nicer to me. I still think the DN-x1700 sounds better than the DJM900NXS2 and even more "musical" for some reason than the MP2015, though the Rane is a super duper resolution/detail monster and a lot of fun to mix on. You have to take abuse on there from favored a-holes if you plan on not getting edited or blocked. I'm locked out of that forum now, though. I've told new Denon and InMusic that Engine Prime needs to just be open source.
